Seamus Staunton started decorating his house a few years back, and he just hasn’t stopped!
Mr. Staunton, every Christmas, decorates his house as much as he possibly can with Christmas lights. As you can see from the video above, there is nothing he hasn’t covered.
His house, located in Cloonfad on the Roscommon/Mayo/Galway border attracts people in their droves every year and this year is no different. He began putting up Xmas lights years ago, for his young children. At the beginning, he began using it as a way to raise money for Northwest Hospice, in honour of his late wife.
He then began using it as an opportunity to collect for Cancer Care West, upon the request of his sick daughter, His daughter, tragically lost her battle with cancer years ago. The decorations now act as an homage to her and her late mother, with Seamus having raised over €72,000 already, with his charitable display.
Have you visited yet? If not, don’t worry as everybody is welcome to attend. All that Seamus asks, is that you donate to the charity box at the crib, is you are in a position to. A great act, from a great man, let’s hope this year sees more much-needed money raised for charity.
Happy Christmas to you and Yours, from everyone here at ThatsFarming.com.
