On today’s instalment of Island Farming Adventures series, we will be bringing you footage from the famous Inishturk GAA pitch – the flattest piece of natural landscape on the entire island.
This is not your typical GAA pitch as it has an abundance of natural seating space amongst the rocky hills surrounding the playing field.
The journey to the pitch is an adventure in its own right, as you meander down the beaten track towards the far end of the island.
In 2012 and 2015, Inishturk were hosts to the All-islands football tournament where nine islands came together and don their island jerseys to compete in an exciting tournament of Gaelic football.
