VIDEO: Finishing all progeny and purchasing high-end weanlings

Pat Liddy, who hails from Newmarket-on-Fergus in Co. Clare, runs a suckler-to-beef enterprise, and also purchases high-end weanlings.

He features in part-three of Dovea Genetics’ suckler farming video series, which highlights how its sires are “proving beneficial” on beef farms.

John Lynch from the bovine genetics company explained that Liddy’s chosen cow-type is a Limousin-cross, first and second-crosses from the dairy herd.

Sires used on Liddy’s 40-cow-suckler farm include LM4745; LM2395; LM2188; CH2304 with all progeny finished; steers are slaughtered under 30-months.
