Beef and Tillage farmer from Co. Kilkenny, Morgan Ging, recently diversified his enterprise, adding a whiskey distillery to the mix.
“We produce all of our own grain on the farm here.” Morgan explained.
The farming family then use this grain to produce their very own brand of whiskey, with all by-products from the distillery fed to the beef livestock on the farm.
Morgan then discusses the Abbey Tri-app and how it has helped them reduce their carbon footprint at the Ballykeefe distillery.
“We reduced the nitrates that is going into the atmosphere. We get that all in one package here with this piece of equipment”, he said.
- Reduction in Carbon footprint. Less nitrates going into the atmosphere.
- Cows can graze on fields five days after application.
- Reduction in odour.
- Doesn’t damage land.
- Easily operated.
“For filling purposes, it has an 11,000-litre pump on the machine. It fills quite quickly without foaming up,” he added.
The Kilkenny farmer said they were looking for a quality machine, which came from a good dealership with a backup service and one which is a family-run business, which is why Abbey Machinery was the perfect choice for him.
