Susan Stoney and her late husband Myles made history by introducing the Vendéen sheep breed to Irish soil in 1984.
The Stoneys who founded the Irish Vendéen Sheep Society once ran a flock of one-hundred pedigree Vendéen sheep.
Susan began judging the French breed in 1986 and her extensive knowledge has been sought after at several shows including two occasions in England and at the Paris Show.
Sunday, August, 12th 2018 marked Susan’s first time judging the breed at Tullamore - Ireland’s largest one-day agri event.
In this video, the well-esteemed judge explains how she divides the high-end entries in order to find a champion and comments on the overall quality of the breed exhibited at this year’s show.
