The Levo-bovin was designed with a view to making it easier for farmers to administer oral treatments to cows when housed indoors.
“During oral interventions, in most cases, the animal’s head is down. The breeder may force the animal using tongs, halter or by the manual force but with the risk of stress, injury and back pain.” the creator explained.
“There are solutions on the market, but they are not practical to implement, and not treat an animal with difficulties and to put in place.”
“The Levo-bovine is the first solution that allows up 2 or 4 bovine heads together; you can pick up the head from the floor.”
“The design resembles a devil on wheels. Once positioned at the foot of the feed fence, the device simultaneously raises the heads of animals with a geared down crank and self-curbed.”
The inventor explained that a farmer can intervene in a safe manner, without causing stress on the animal.
