Some 220 cows on the Hinchely farm, which is based in the US, are now in control of when they want to be milked due to the installation of a robotic milking system.
Duane and Tina live on the farm, which is at their fingertips, with their two twin daughters; Anna and Catherine.
“When I saw this robot, it was something that I could figure out that would be the future of our farm.”
"I want to continue the dairy farming aspect of it, so we put up a new robot barn," Anna explained.
The family have embraced robotics with a view to making their farm as "cow friendly as possible".
"Robots are tools that are literally saving my life. If we didn't have robots, our future would be selling cows." Tina said.
