MCL Agri is a family-owned business based in the picturesque lakeside town of Lanesborough, Co. Longford.
Michael Casserly and family purchased the business in 2009; there was a tradition of retail and an agri-business on this landmark site since the late 1950s.
The Casserlys embarked on a progressive journey to modernise the business, developing a Spar convenience store; an Applegreen forecourt; a fuel depot and an agri-business.
"With convenience in mind, you can come onto our site, have your breakfast and a coffee; do a small shop; re-fuel your vehicle at our Applegreen forecourt; go to our fuel depot for your solid fuel and move on to our Agri-business." Michael Casserly Managing Director - MCL Agri said.
Paddy Delaney B.Agri.Sc joined MCL Agri as its Agri Manager in late 2016 and said that the company has gone from strength-to-strength since then.
He said that this would not have been possible without the support of the local community and the enterprise's vast range of suppliers - one of which is Kiernan Milling.
"Kiernan Milling is a family-run business like ourselves based in Co. Longford. It is a pleasure dealing with Kiernan Milling - they supply us with top-quality feed along with excellent technical support." Paddy Delaney B.Agri.Sc said.
"They also provide other services such as silage sampling which in my opinion is vital to the success of any farming enterprise nowadays."
"As a part-time beef and sheep farmer myself, I can see first-hand the requirements of the farmers in the local community and here at MCL Agri, we do everything in our power to meet these requirements to the best of our abilities." He added.
MCL Agri stocks a huge range of animal feeds; fertilisers; fuels; heavy hardware such as gates; posts and wire along with a vast range of clothing and animal remedies which are available in-store.
"We are really happy with progress to date as our business has grown every year since we started. This is mainly due to the fact that we have excellent staff; loyal suppliers and above all else, we have loyal customers." Michael said.
"We are looking forward to the next phase of development, which will be our new E-commerce website. We are proud of what we have done here and look forward to the future." He concluded.
