Richard Marsland is the Farm Manager at Michael Farms in Australia.
Here they farm approximately 6000 HA, mainly consisting of tillage crops such as wheat, barley and many more. Richard said the main challenge for the family in that part of Western Australia is rainfall or a lack of.
He also listed soil acidity as another hurdle for the farm, which means they spread 6,000 tonnes of lime each year! This problem has been solved by the Agrispread As120, which spreads 2t per ha.
“We’ve probably had the Agrispread for four years now...Because we work in hot conditions it puts a lot of work on the equipment, the spreaders in particular,”, Richard said to ThatsFarming.
“Since we have had it, the last four years, it (Agrispreader) hasn’t really missed a beat. It’s gone very well, we are very happy with it.” he added.
Richard also informed us that the Agrispreader was easily modified to suit their and other’s needs.
“Its pretty versatile and can handle tough conditions...We will definitely go onto another Agrispreader. We are very happy with this machine,” Richard concluded.
