Drew Kennedy worked as an office administrator, a drover and a clerk before becoming a livestock auctioneer. “Start from the bottom and work your way up,” he advises.
He gained practical experience, learning from others involved in the field, and also completed a four-year degree programme.
“You always get nervous; there are always things that can go wrong,” Drew admitted.
“You definitely pick up as you go, and you get better and better each year.”
“You’re in the middle between the two [buyers and sellers] and it’s not easy to keep both parties happy.”
