A little 5 week old lamb was in need of a hero and it came from the most unlikely of sources, a butcher. Lily, as she is now called, was saved by butcher Sean Landy recently, as reported by BBC Midlands.
Lily was found by Mr. Landy with a broken femur which needed urgent medical attention. The Butcher rushed the lamb to his local vet, where she was kept for over 5 weeks. She had surgery on the injured leg and had a cast fitted. Little Lily needed round the clock attention for the next five weeks, provided by Sean who fell in love with the pet.
He tended to Lily’s every need, even bottle feeding her back to full health. She has now recently gotten her cast off and is ready for action in the paddocks once more. She will be reared into a breeding ewe with Sean’s other ewe’s.
He now says they will be friends for life and is saving Lily from ever becoming someone’s dinner.
