Ewan Turriff’s cab for a farm quad is proof that “necessity is the mother of invention”.
He solved a common problem using nothing other than his creative juices and an old, white plastic IBC tank.
Speaking to That’s Farming, Turriff said: “The shepherd was out checking the sheep one rainy morning on a farm just outside Strichen in Aberdeenshire.”
“When he came back from checking the sheep he was soaked to the skin. I began brainstorming and came up with an idea of a cab for the quad.”
“I got an old IBC tank and started cutting windows and a door in it,” he explained.
“Within three hours, I had it made and on the quad – since then, the shepherd has been dry checking his sheep,” Turriff concluded.
