Hands for Life is a community-based initiative by the Irish Heart Foundation that will provide free CPR training to the public across the country.
According to the foundation;
- 13 people die from a cardiac arrest every day, with almost 70% of these happening at home,
- Only 6.5% of cardiac arrests that happen outside a hospital setting survive,
- CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.
ESB Networks and Abbot have teamed up with the Irish Heart Foundation to provide free CPR classes across the country.
Bobby Daly, a Network Technician for ESB Networks said, “With the Irish Heart Foundation and the Hands for Life programme, we are offering communities throughout the country an opportunity to learn a life-saving skill.”
“We are also empowering people to realise their potential as leaders in a nation of life-savers, ” he concluded.
