By using the service, there is no need for storing herbicide on the farm while the company specialists take care of the paperwork and regulations.
Sensors detect broadleaf ahead as the DeadDock vehicle passes over and sprays only the area affected without spraying on the surrounding grass.
This, in turn, said the company, “results in huge reductions in herbicide use” and is kinder to the environment, soil and animals”.
Using this vehicle results in a reduction of up to 90% herbicide usage.
DeadDock does not use a conventional spraying method thus eliminating sprayer drift, instead, it applies the herbicide directly onto the leaf.
The company also reiterates the point that more grass and fewer weeds means better milk production from your animals.
The application is not subject to wind speeds.
One product user, Richard Austin from Louisburgh said, “While very effective on heavy dock infestations, it is an economical way of dealing with smaller numbers of docks that would not justify broadcast spraying and never letting heavy infestations of docks re-establish”.
