Janice hails from County Clare, where she helps run her family’s farm.
They currently farm over 55 acres, with mostly LM cattle. All limousines on their farm have 5 star ratings, while they also have Belgian Blues, Herefords and a few Simmentals too. They currently have 55 cattle with plans afoot to expand. They started off with the one LM bull and have increased slowly since.
The farm was inherited from her father’s great aunt and as Janice is an only child, her route was always going to be agriculture. Since a young age she has been drafted in to help with dosing, cleaning, tagging and dehorning duties.
The farm places a strong emphasis on maintaining hygiene standards. This emphasis helped them achieve a 96% star rating from Bord Bia, which they hope to keep and improve upon.
