CLAAS of America have been celebrating after they mowed over 40 hectares in an eight-hour period, breaking the world record in the process.
They carried out the feat using a Disco 1100RC, which they had mounted to a Claas Axion 870. They claim that their mower carried out the feat, with an average rate of 17.6 hectares per hour! They will now submit their documents to Guinness for official verification.
The record was set by Tate Mesbergen, of Mesbergen farms, in Colorado. The farmer got through over 140 hectares of Lucerne using the conditioner mower. The previous record was carried out on grass and without a using a conditioner on the mower.
