The insurance company Zurich has today announced they are seeking applicants for the second year of their apprentice programme.

The apprenticeship is open to new applicants, with farming experience, and was set up to offer job seekers an opportunity to gain a three-year training and development opportunity with the company, at its centre of excellence in Wexford.

This year’s programme will offer two specialist opportunities to applicants, with one being a chance to work with the company’s Agri team sector while the other is a chance to focus on managing the business’ farm portfolio.

The apprenticeship was started by Zurich and it focuses on developing learners’ core skills through challenging on the job work experience.

While it will also offer an extensive range of world-class training supports. Successful candidates will earn and learn as they work towards achieving their professional diploma in general insurance, while they will also be afforded the opportunity to secure a place in the level 8 BA Honours Degree in Insurance practice.

Applicants who are successful will also be given the opportunity to experience first hand the skills required to be a part of Zurich’s Agri division while also gaining knowledge of the farm insurance industry. This will cover farming property, livestock, farm homes and business interruption.

Head of HR at Zurich in Ireland, Daragh Byrne, said of the apprenticeship “We’re delighted to launch this programme for the second year running, following the success seen in 2016.

We’re seeking out hard-working, passionate people with a willingness to engage, and look forward to seeing the new candidates that 2017 has in store.”

The Apprenticeship in Insurance Practice is open for online applications, which will be accepted up until Wednesday 31 May 2017.
