The North-West Limousin Club is holding a barn dance on the farm of John, Nora and Patricia Moore in Buckfield, Kilmeena, Westport, Co. Mayo on Saturday, (June 22nd) to raise funds for the club.
This will be preceded by a cattle-handling workshop for the Young Members Association (YMA) from 3pm to 5pm.
The workshop includes lessons on how to handle cattle safely, how to wash and groom, halter training tips, clipping and nutrition.
President of the ICLS, Michael Gunn said: “The older children will have the opportunity to enter a competition to represent the North-West in cattle handling”.

The winning team will then enter an international event, to defend the international winners' title against, England, Wales, and Scotland, where the Irish team took gold last year.
The 2019 North-West Limousin Club YMA team will be selected after the workshop.
The event will take place on the farm of John, Nora and Patricia Moore Buckfield Kilmeena Westport Co Mayo F28T6Y4 and refreshments will be served afterwards.
Everybody is welcome, and it costs just €10 to become a member of the YMA. Entry fee €10.
