The warning was issued today, Monday 28th of January, and Met Éireann have warned that it will be “very cold” this week with scattered wintry showers. They warn that these will become frequent in the north, west and southwest of the country, with some snow accumulations expected also.
They also warn of widespread frost and icy patches forming overnight, whilst noting that there is the “possibility” of more significant falls of snow/sleet on Thursday, January 31st. The warning comes into effect from 6am Tuesday, January 29th, remaining in place until Saturday at 6pm.
Met Éireann are due to issue a further update on the warning tomorrow morning.
