A Kiwi dairy farmer has set the world record for milking 5000 cows in 12 hours.
It’s not everyday you can say you milked 5000 cows but then New Zealand farmer Isaac Cook is no ordinary man.
The 37 year old began his record breaking mission last week finishing on Friday afternoon March 17th.
Cook’s mad cap idea came from a plan called Fit4Farming which encourages farmers to keep fit, train and eat properly. Stuff NZ reported that the Rangitikei farmer normally milks about 500 cows.
Before the challenge the most he had ever milked was 2000 but the St Patricks day event saw him milk ten times more across 12 hours and three dairy farms.
The farmers friends and family urged him on his effort. He was sprayed with milk and champagne after his gruelling effort finished.
Not one to go mad Cook said that he would return to work the next morning but might not just milk another 5000.
Cook said that despite the long day he was just a bit stiff in the back but otherwise OK.
The Question now is can an Irish farmer top it?
