Women in Ag
The national competition, now in its fourth year, strives to highlight the importance of women in farming; it shows that there are hundreds of farms that have women as their main driving force, many of which juggle this with family life and/or an on-farm job.
The prestigious 2017 award was claimed by Janice Guinnane at the National Ploughing Championships in September. Janice hails from County Clare, where she helps run her family’s farm, spread over a 55-acre holding. The herd comprises of Limousins; Belgian-Blues; Herefords and a number of Simmentals.
