Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for eleven counties as Storm Lorenzo sweeps through Ireland.
The alert – which came into effect in Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Clare at 9 am this morning (Friday, October 4th) –will be valid until 1 pm.
“South-west winds of mean speeds of 50-55km/h with occasional gusts of 90-100km/h for a time.”
All previous storm-related warnings have ended.
Approximately 4,000 homes, farms and businesses are without power this morning as a result of Storm Lorenzo.
The ESB confirmed that it resorted power to 12,000 families who lost supply due to the storm overnight.
