Mist and fog patches are set to clear this morning, giving rise to variable cloud and sunny spells, according to Met Éireann.
Temperatures will reach 15 to 19 degrees, but will drop between 4 and to 8 degrees later tonight. It will be chilly, with patchy high cloud; fog and mist will form towards dawn.
Saturday – Met Éireann predicts that Saturday will be another dry day across Leinster and Munster with sunny spells.
Outbreaks of rain look likely in parts of Connacht and west Ulster by the late afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will range from 16 to 21 degrees – the highest values are expected in the east and south-east.
It will be mostly cloudy on Saturday night, with patches of light rain or drizzle, although many areas will stay dry; lows of 9 to 14 degrees.
Sunday – A mostly cloudy day with scattered outbreaks of rain.
Met Éireann has warned that there is still “some uncertainty” regarding the exact position and timing of a weather front – which is due to progress southwards over the country on Sunday – meaning that the details are “subject to change”.
Winds will be mainly light, with top temperatures of 14 to 20 degrees.
