Frost will clear quickly this morning, with rain in more western areas set to become widespread as the morning progresses, according to Met Éireann.
Scattered showers in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching between 8 to 9 degrees Celsius over Ulster and east Leinster, highest elsewhere, climbing to 11 to 13 C.
Saturday – A blustery day, with rain to make its way across the country, falling as sleet in places.
It will become colder on Saturday night with rain turning wintry, Met Éireann has warned.
Daytime temperatures will range from 6 to 10 degrees, falling between 1 and 4 degrees at night.
Sunday – A very cold and blustery day with sunny spells and wintry showers; temperatures will vary from 2 to 5 degrees.
Frost is likely to be widespread on Sunday night, Met Éireann said.
