This week is going to be very changeable with mild weather to begin with, before the weather turns much milder by midweek, according to Met Éireann.
Monday - It will be mostly cloudy to begin with on Monday, with some patches of mist, fog and drizzle. There will also be some sunshine breaking through, though it will be humid with top daytime temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees. It will be the warmest in east Munster and south Leinster, with winds light variable and southwesterly.
It is expected to be misty and cloudy overnight with some patches of rain, fog and drizzle. It will mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees, with light southerly breezes.
Tuesday - It will again be mainly cloudy on Tuesday with some further patches of rain, drizzle and fog. There is expected to be some good, dry periods and some good spells of sunshine in Leinster and east Munster. Persistent rain should develop along western and northwestern coastal counties by the afternoon. It will be warm and humid generally with top daytime temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees. Winds will be moderate and south to southwesterly, increasing as the day progresses.
Tuesday night will be a breezy one, with fresh and gusty south to southwest winds overnight. There will also be widespread rain for a period overnight, heavy in some places. Some hill and coastal fog will also develop, though it will remain close and humid with overnight temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.
Wednesday - Further rain is expected on Wednesday with mist and low cloud in eastern counties. It should remain drier in Connacht, Ulster and West Munster, with this dry weather extending countrywide by afternoon. It is forecast to remain and bright, with occasional sunny spells. Top temperatures on the day of 16 to 18 degrees, or up to 20 degrees in eastern counties.
Wednesday night should remain dry early on, before showers develop overnight.
Thursday - Early forecasts suggest that Thursday will be a much cooler and fresher day. There is some good, sunny spells forecast with showers also, some turning heavy. Top daytime temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees with winds moderate to fresh and west to northwest in direction. Overnight temperatures should range from 7 to 10 degrees Celsius.
Friday - A much similar day expected on Friday, with daytime temperatures ranging from 14 to 17 degrees in what will be a cooler and fresher day. There will also be a mixture of sunny spells and showery weather, some turning heavy. Temperatures will remain similar to Thursday overnight, ranging from 7 to 10 degrees, with moderate to fresh winds, west to northwest in direction.
