There are two status yellow warnings in place for the majority of Christmas eve, issued by Mét Éireann yesterday evening.
The meteorologists have issued wind warnings for most of Connacht, with “Strong and gusty” winds, around coastal counties in particular, The warning is in place for Galway, Mayo, Sligo, and Donegal. It will be in effect until 8pm this evening, December 24th.
That’s not all though, as Met Éireann have also implemented a status yellow weather advisory warning. This will effect counties Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo and Donegal and will be in place until 9am Christmas morning. “Periods of heavy” rain is forecast overnight with “local spot flooding”.
