Rain will become widespread on Thursday evening

Today will be a bright, fresh day with sunny spells and scattered showers, according to Met Éireann. Showers will be mainly in the west and north this morning but will extend eastwards to all areas in the afternoon before dying out this evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh west to southwest breezes.

Tonight will be cold and dry with clear spells and some patches of mist or fog developing. Temperatures falling to 0 to 4 degrees, with frost in many areas.

Tuesday

The national forecaster expects a bright day with sunny spells in most areas tomorrow. It will be milder with temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Tuesday night will be dry with clear spells and some patches of mist or fog. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees.

Wednesday

Wednesday is predicted to be mild and dry in most places, according to the national meteorologists. There is a chance of light rain or drizzle in coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees with light variable breezes.

Thursday

Met Éireann anticipate more mild and dry weather on Thursday, with the best of sunny spells in Leinster and Ulster. Showery rain will develop in the southwest and spread over Munster and Connacht later in the day before becoming widespread on Thursday night. Maximum temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.

Friday

Friday is expected to be mostly cloudy with rain or showers. The rain will eventually clear to the northeast in the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with light southeast breezes.

Weekend

The national forecast suggests Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a good amount of dry weather and patches of rain in places. It will be bit cooler with highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees and light to moderate westerly breezes.

Current indications suggest that Sunday will be a noticeably cooler and breezy day with rain or showers.
