Showers – which are set to develop in the west and north-west – will become widespread this afternoon and evening, according to Met Éireann.
Temperatures will reach 14 to 16 degrees with moderate to fresh, gusty south-west winds.
Tonight will bring clear spells and showers – some of which will be heavy, especially over the western half of the country; lows of 8 to 10 degrees.
Tuesday – Cold and blustery with some bright or sunny spells and widespread heavy showers – some will be prolonged and a few possibly thundery.
Temperatures will range from 11 to 15 degrees, dropping between 6 to 9 degrees on Tuesday night.
Wednesday – Met Éireann predicts that prolonged showers will descend upon the country, along with sunny spells and high of 12 to 14 degrees.
Thursday – Further heavy showers are expected, although these will “mostly die out” during the evening and early night.
Friday – With top temperatures of 14 to 15 degrees, persistent rain will spread eastwards to all areas and will be heavy at times.
Fresh to strong southerly winds will veer south-westerly as rain clears in the evening and night.
