Today will be a cool, blustery day with a mix of sunny spells and showers, according to Met Éireann. Showers will spread across the country from the northwest and become more widespread as the day progresses, with some showers becoming heavy and thundery. Maximum temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, coldest in Ulster and North Connacht.

More wet weather is expected tonight for the northern half of the country. It will be mostly dry further south with cloud increasing towards dawn. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees and feeling unseasonably cold in strong northwesterly winds.

Saturday

The national forecaster reports that Saturday will start out wet and windy in the north but drier further south, although showers will extend to all areas in the morning. The rain will clear to showers in the afternoon and evening but remain cloudy for the rest of the day. Maximum temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in a brisk northwesterly wind.

Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows of 8 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh northwesterly winds.

Sunday

Sunday will be mostly dry with a few showers in the north and west, according to the national meteorologists. It will be rather cloudy early on, but sunny spells will break through in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will rise to between 12 and 19 degrees, warmest in the south.

Monday

Monday night will be mostly dry with a mix of cloud and some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 13 degrees in the north to 17 degrees in the south, in a light to moderate northerly breeze.
