The man who died following a farm accident in Ferrybank, Co. Waterford on Tuesday (April 16th) morning has been named.
Johnny Phelan from Kilmacow, Co. Kilkenny “suffered fatal injuries while emptying a septic tank”, according to a Garda spokesperson.
Gardaí were called to the farm at 10 am; the farmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford for a full post-mortem examination.
Johnny - a married father-of-four and grandfather-of-six - will be laid to rest this Sunday following requiem mass at St. Senan’s Church.
His remains will repose on Friday at Donnacha Doyle and Sons’ Funeral Home from 4pm-9pm, according to his death notice.
