A man in his 50’s was killed in a farm accident in Co. Waterford on Tuesday, June 5th, as reported by us here.
The man’s body was discovered on Tuesday evening on the farm near Kilrossanty in the county. It is thought that the farmer was crushed against a wall by a tractor during an incident while working with silage. It is not yet known what time the accident occurred, though an HSA and Garda investigation is currently underway.
The casualty has been named today as local farmer Maurice ‘Mossie’ Coffey. His friends and neighbours say he was involved in farming for the majority of his life, describing his death as a huge loss to the area.
Mr. Coffey’s remains will be reposing at Drohan's Funeral Home Friday from 5pm with Removal at 8pm to St Brigid's Church, Kilrossanty. His funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
