A new calving implement has been released ahead of the upcoming winter and spring calving seasons, the Calving Aid.
The design was developed by John McDermott of Midland Engineering in Longford. The unique product has been dubbed as “one of a kind” and can work as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with a Calving jack, making the calving process safer and quicker.
As you can see from the pictures above and the video below, the Calving Aid is simply two pieces of stainless steel with a handle on each one. They also feature a slight hook, which can be looped around ropes or a calving jack to help farmers get the animals out as quickly and safely as possible.
“Calving Aid has made delivering my calves hassle-free, I would recommend it to anybody wanting to make delivering their calves easier. It fits in my back pocket and it much handier to manage than a Calving Jack.” Said one user, Tommy Breen.
The product has been described as suitable for use in lambing and calving and is small enough to fit in a farmer’s pocket. The design is made from High-quality 316 stainless solid steel, is hygienic and can be yours for just €25!
The developers promise a fast delivery, which means you could have yours just in time. Check out the video of the design in action below!
