A status yellow wind and rain warning has been issued for certain counties by Met Éireann today, Wednesday December 12th.
The Status Yellow Wind warning has been issued for counties Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Wexford, with the warning coming into effect from 4pm today, Wednesday December 12th, and remaining in place until 2pm Thursday, December 13th.
Met Eireann have warned of southeasterly winds reaching speeds of between 50-65km/hr, with gusts expected to range from 90 to 100km/hr. Winds will be strongest along coastal areas.
Rain Warning -
A Status yellow rainfall warning was also issued by Met Éireann, again to affect counties Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Wexford.
Met Éireannwarn of “heavy rain” and accumulations varying from 25-50mms in places. They also warn of a risk of spot flooding, with heavier rain expected in mountainous regions. The warning comes into effect from6pm this evening,Wednesday December 12th, and remains in place until6pm Thursday, December 13th.
