Emerald Isle Beef Producers is involved in preparing a consignment of cattle for export.
Under-30-month-old bulls and steers with “flesh”, which range between 500-1,000kgs, are being sought for this order. “They must be an R grade or better.” a spokesperson for the producer organiser explained.
Acceptable breeds include:
- Continentals – €1.90-€2.20/kg;
- Friesian-cross-continentals – €1.70-€1.80/kg;
- Herefords – €1.80-€2.00/kg;
- Angus – €1.80-€2.00/kg.
“Cattle weighed at [the] ship. Secure-wired payment with export credit insurance. The boat is only for cattle that match the above criteria at the range of prices listed.”
“Uptake on this is strong with many cattle added to our list for pricing since we launched on Thursday (March 26th). The advice is to act early or you could miss the boat.” the spokesperson added.
