All roads will lead to Cavan this Wednesday 23rd August 2017, for the 76th Annual Virginia Agricultural Show.
€50,000 prize money is up for grabs, with over 150 trade stands set to dominate the showgrounds.
One major competition, which may be considered the highlight, is the crowning of the 34th Diageo Baileys Champion Dairy Cow and Heifer Competitions.
The competition is backed with a €10,000 prize fund, from Glanbia, Diageo & Baileys.
Another possible entry in the dairy diary is the Virginia Show is the Dairy Conference, with a panel comprising of Donal Patton, Peter Farrell and Aaron Forde.
Ways and mean to enjoy running a dairy farm for the next decade will lead as the topic of discussion.
Other highlights in the livestock discipline include Gunne Carnaross Mart €3000 Champion Weanlings and €2000 Liffey Meats Champion Beef Bullock.
In the equine arena, the Traditional Irish Sport Horse Foal All-Ireland Championship, All-Ireland, Irish Draught Mare and Foal team Championship and Irish Draught Colt Foal Championship are set to take centre stage.
All-Ireland Donkey Mare Championship, The Gain Dog Food All-Ireland Championship, All-Ireland Native Breed Championship and The All-Ireland Gun Dog Championship.
An ICA Competition sponsored by McEvoys Supervalu, Pergola Kitchen, Garden Competition and Fleetwood All-Ireland Amateur Art competitions will also run on the day.
