Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, has recently released a video to remind farmers to take precaution on farms as the silage season draws near.
In the video, Minister Creed says he wants farmer to “keep safety at the core of your activities”.
“Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are far more children on farms than there would normally be at this time of the year. I urge you, in terms of your silage cutting operations, please be vigilant with children in farmyards.”
“There are also more people walking on country roads, people cycling and people social distancing. I urge you to slow down and be careful,” he concluded.
