An Garda Síochána have revealed today, December 19th, that a number of planned searches were carried out on the property in Falsk, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, which has recently been to the forefront of an eviction scandal.
The searches were carried out at the Strokestown property earlier today, Wednesday December 19th, with four separate locations on the property searched. Among the areas searched was the houses, outhouses and surrounding areas. Gardaí confirmed that a firearm, a teleporter and lorry have been seized as part of the search.
Two men, aged in their 50’s and 60’s, were subsequently arrested by Gardaí and are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act,1939 at Castlerea Garda Station.

This morning’s operation follows a number of searches carried out in counties Dublin and Meath on Monday (17/12/2018), where members of the Special Detective Unit recovered a number of items including documentation and phones as part of the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
