Tuam Co-operative Mart in Co. Galway will not open to host its general cattle sale next Monday (June 10th).
Releasing a statement, a mart spokesperson said: “Tuam Mart is closed for essential maintenance on Monday (June 10th).”
“The mart will re-open on Tuesday (June 11th) for the usual sheep sale.” the statement concluded.
The mart’s next cattle sale will take place the following Monday – June 17th.
There was a good trade for all types of cattle at the Galway-based venue last Monday (June 3rd), with a 95% clearance recorded, according to Marion Devane.
Bullocks made up to €830 with the weight;
- CHX - 650kg - €1480;
- LMX - 640kg - €1340;
- CHX - 565kg - €1390.
Heifers sold for up to €875 with the weight;
- CHX - 555kg - €1430;
- LMX - 610kg - €1470.
- Cull cows fetched up to €1680;
- Weanling bulls climbed to €530 with the weight;
- Weanling heifers clicked up to €605 over.
On Tuesday (June 4th), lambs pushed up to €79.50 with the weight, while old ewes topped out at €116 each.
