Tributes have poured in for the late Dr. John Finnan, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash in Co. Wexford on Sunday, October 6th.
Finnan was a senior research officer in the Teagasc Crops Research Department in Oak Park, Carlow; he specialised in energy crops and more recently, oat production.
In a statement – which was released yesterday, (Monday, October 7th), Teagasc said: “It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we heard this morning that our dear colleague and friend John Finnan was on board the plane that crashed in Co. Wexford yesterday afternoon.”
“This is devastating news for John’s family and at a time like this, our thoughts and prayers are with them as they try to comprehend such a loss.”
“John was relaxed, fun and sincere. It was an honour and privilege to know and work with John and in the weeks ahead while there will be grief, many tears and moments of sadness, we remember a colleague who impacted so positively on people’s lives.”
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam.” the statement concluded.
