Tributes paid to agricultural show ‘leading light’

Tributes have been paid following the death of Galway man Francis Melia.

The deceased passed away in his 90th year at his home in Corrandulla.

A spokesperson for the Corrandulla Show have expressed their sympathies to the family and paid tribute to Melia, saying he was a “leading light” in the show and will be missed by all.

“Francis loved the Show and gave so much of his time to it. He loved interacting with everyone from the sponsors, traders, competitors and Show volunteers young and old and many a life-long friend was made. Ar dheis Dé go riabh a anam,” they said.
