The Dublin to Mayo tractor run is set to take place this coming Good Friday and Saturday, March 30th – 31st.
The event has been organized by a group of local do-gooders and tractor fanatics and all money raised will go to not one, but two charities. The charities in question are Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin and Castlebar Special Care Unit.
The two-day event will commence at Phoenix Park in Dublin on Good Friday at approximately 9am, with 18 tractors set to make the journey. They will travel via Lucan, Leixlip, Maynooth, Kilcock, Enfield, Mother Hubbard’s, Clonard, Kinnegad, Miltownpass, Mullingar, Rathowen, Edgeworthstown and Longford. They will stay overnight at Feerick’s in Rathowen on Good Friday night
The second day of the event will recommence in Longford, taking in Lanesboro, Roscommon, Ballymoe, Castlerea, Ballinlough, Ballyhaunis, Claremorris, Knock, Kiltimagh, Bohola, before making it home to Castlebar. The event will be celebrated at approx. 8pm in the Breaffy House Hotel.
Schedule Day one –
9am Papal Cross Carpark, Phoenix Park – Departure time
9:35 due to arrive in Lucan
11:25 Mother Hubbard’s *JOINING PLACE* + 30 minute rest period, to depart at 11.55am
13.00 Mullingar – Through town. *JOINING PLACE* Lake outside Mullingar (Longford side 1:15-1:30) – Last chance to join day one!!
14.00 Ballinalack Supermac’s
14.30 Rathowen – Feericks - *PITSTOP* - NO JOINING HERE – Should have joined at the lake near Mullingar!
16:00 Longford Arms Hotel – This is the final leg of the journey on day one. All those in attendance are asked to act responsibly and be patient. Do not overtake any tractors in front, it is not a race!
Gardaí will be helping throughout the course of the two days, in various towns. Anybody messing or acting unsafe will be sent home. Please be safe and follow all instructions.
