John Corley from Kilkelly, Co. Mayo took to O’Connell Street, Dublin on his Massey Ferguson 135 in recent days to launch the 2019 Dublin2Mayo Tractor Run.
Last year, organisers raised €96,424 in aid of Crumlin Hospital and Castlebar Special Care Unit.
The 2019 run – which is in excess of 280kms - will feature a number of tractors that will make their way through the streets of Dublin City before arriving in Mayo – their final destination.
The event is being held in aid of The National Rehabilitation Hospital and Pediatric Special Care Units in Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar and Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar.
Music by Rhythm & Sicks and John Brady in the Longford Arms Hospital on Friday, April 19th, with entertainment in the Big Red Barn, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo on Saturday, April 19th and April 20th.
Saturday night’s acts include Richie Remo; The Kilkennys and Rejig, while Pamela Gilmartin, Robert Mizzell and Atlantic Rhythm will entertain crowds on Sunday night.
As part of their fundraising efforts, organisers are also selling raffle tickets, with the top prize being a Massey Ferguson 135 Tractor – tickets cost €10 each or a book of 3 can be purchased for €20. This draw will take place on Easter Sunday (April 21st).
