Tractor and feed lorry collide

A tractor and lorry collided on a rural road in Herefordshire over the course of the weekend.

The incident occurred on the A449 at Gatsford, Ross-on-Wye on Saturday (August 1st) afternoon.

A lorry carrying farm feed and a Fendt tractor with a trailer of potatoes were involved in the crash.

The tractor had been pulling a trailer of potatoes and had overturned and the tanker was leaking fuel, according a spokesperson for West Mercia Police.

Fire crews used environmental grab packs and soil to assist with what have been described as “significant” fuel leaks.

The road was closed for a period and vehicles were recovered, the police spokesperson added.
