Agribusiness is one of Ireland’s most important indigenous industries, contributing an estimated €24 billion to the national economy and employing over 150,00 people. It is the most embedded industry with Agribusinesses literally based in every corner of Ireland.
‘The Agribusiness Awards provide a much needed voice for the individuals and organisations that play a significant role in the growth and development of this industry in Ireland. Their achievements are terrific , we should be proud of the achievements of people involved in this industry and these awards provide the ideal opportunity to sing their praises. The Agribusiness Awards offer a wide range of categories and therefore plenty of opportunities for companies to perhaps enter more than one category.’ Tommy said.
He added ‘The Agribusiness Awards were established last year and were extremely well received within the industry, the success of the inaugural event left us in no doubt of the need for such awards. We opened for entries on the 27th of June for Agribusiness Awards 2016.’
‘The Agribusiness Awards are devised and organised by Dublin-based Event Strategies Limited, a leader in B2B awards and conferences. The Awards cater for all sectors who contribute to the fantastic achievements of the Agri-food industry as a whole. The award categories reflect the main areas of excellence in the agribusiness sector – the 23 categories can be viewed at: www.agribusinessawards.ie and entry is free of charge.’
‘While our Award categories are very focused, we have a total of 23 categories, so plenty of scope for entrants. We are offering an extended deadline of August 25th to readers of ‘That’s Farming’ He added.
The awards ceremony will place on the Thursday November 17, in the Ballsbridge Hotel Dublin and has been deemed as a ‘glittering gala occasion’ by Tommy.
‘Dr Karina Pierce of the School of Agriculture and Food Science, UCD, is this year’ s Judge Co-ordinator and she has recruited an excellent panel of judges drawn from state bodies including the Agribusiness Awards Strategic Partner Enterprise Ireland, from academia, farming organisations and the world of finance.’ Tommy said.
