Tipperary Gardaí have launched an animal cruelty investigation, after they stumbled upon the remains of many dead animals, as reported by Tipperarylive.ie
The discovery was made by Gardaí last Thursday, February 7th, during the search of farmland in Castleconnell Co. Limerick. The search was being conducted in relation to a tractor stolen from Lorrha, Co. Tipperary last week.
Gardaí recovered the tractor in question and this discovery led to other searches being carried out in Cloughjordan and Ballingarry. It was in Ballingarry that they stumbled upon the remains of a dead dog and a number of dead horses.
Gardaí have notified the Department of Agriculture of the discovery and have launched a subsequent animal cruelty investigation. During their search, they also recovered a number of high-value agricultural equipment, which were all recently stolen.
