The man, Dennis Thomas, appeared in Donegal District Court charged with four charges of stealing lambs.
The thefts occurred in the South-west of Donegal, and the stolen animals were sold at Dowra mart in co. Cavan.
Mr. Thomas admitted to the thefts, which were worth approximately €4,000.
The accused claims to have stolen the animal’s due to serious financial difficulties he was facing late last year, and his solicitor had money to pay compensation to the affected farmers.
The case has been adjourned until October 4th, to give Mr. Thomas ample time to distribute the €4,000 in compensation amongst the affected farmers.
Mr. Thomas will be sentenced when the court re-sits in October.
Rustler Dennis Thomas has admitted stealing 70 sheep worth €4,000.
