This week is science week and Teagasc have released their publication, Women in STEM, to help celebrate.
The publication highlights the leading ladies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, working with Teagasc. There are 77 ladies featured in the publication, with all dedicating their days to working in research.
All of the women are either researchers or specialists, have gained degrees and masters or PhDs in science-related courses. Each and every one of them work with Teagasc in a wide variety of roles . These roles are involved across Teagasc’s four research programmes. These include their animal and grassland, crops, environment and land use, food, rural economy and development programmes.
Each of their journeys into the industry has been documented in this publication, all of which were sparked by a genuine interest in science. It is hoped that this publication will encourage young women across the country, to pursue a career in STEM.
