A Suckler farmer from Sallins in Co. Kildare is to sell his entire spring calving herd in an upcoming sale this coming Wednesday, January 16th.
The Clearance sale will be held at Kilcullen mart in Co. Kildare and the livestock to be put under the hammer are from Sheplands Farm, run by farm manager Eggert on 67hectares. The reason for the sale is due to a change in system, with the farmer set to begin a new agricultural venture, contract rearing heifers for a dairy farmer.
Livestock for Sale-
As mentioned, there will be a total of 100 “Top class” suckler cows going under the hammer, all from the Sheplands Herd.
All cows are Limousine Crossbreeds and are in-calf to a one of four five-star LM bull within the herd. Also included in the sale will be the herd’s five stock bulls, all of which are five-star rated. Four of the bulls in question are Limousine breeds and the remaining bull a Hereford.
All stock included in the sale have been vaccinated for I.B.R, Lepto and B.V.D. The sale will kick off at 1pm on the day, in conjunction with regular sales.
