Farmers around the country are beginning to realise that Winter 2017 is going to be a tough one after our recent straw poll has showed that 63% of farmers have said they will not have enough straw this winter.
The bad news comes as a result of a wet summer which hampered tillage farmers efforts to gather crops and as a result harvest straw.
Straw supplies in the country are expected to be lower this year with many now looking to the UK to help bolster already low supplies. As a result straw is expected to increase in price.
68% of farmers expressed worry about access to straw.
