Alan O’Reilly, a Weather expert for Carlow Weather, has suggested there is the possibility of “stormy” weather this coming Friday, November 9th.
The forecaster posted on the Carlow Weather Facebook page that “strong gusts and heavy rain” are very likely on Friday, with winds presently looking strong. The forecaster posted that in his opinion, the issuing of yellow warnings is “likely” while he also noted “there is a chance the gusts could reach orange levels” as we get closer to Friday.
“If the high resolution charts do meet Orange levels and Met Éireann issue Orange level warnings then this system would be named Storm Deirdre but it’s wait and see for now.” He posted.
Met Éireann forecasts confirm that Friday will be a “wet and windy day”, with heavy rain to spread throughout the country by morning, continuing into the afternoon. They also say southerly winds will be “strong and gusty” in the morning, though there is as of yet no mention of Storm Deirdre.
